Six Flags Great Adventure 2012 Additions
Both extreme and family thrills are on tap for 2012! Theme park guests will have more to scream about with the introduction of SkyScreamer, the newest sensation in tower rides. Thirty-two guests will board the ride and sit two across in open-air swings as they climb to 24 stories while spinning round and round. At full swing, guests will soar in a 98-ft. circle at speeds of 40 mph high above the park below.
The park is also introducing two new, yet classic, family attractions–Fender Benders bumper cars and a music-themed scrambler called Deja Vu. Guests will also be greeted with the return of the popular flying elephants ride, Air Jumbo, which formerly made its home in The Golden Kingdom section of the theme park. These rides will join SkyScreamer and reside in the newly-themed Adventure Alley.
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor
At Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, it’s go big, go extreme – with the addition of Dive Bomber, an exciting, new drop box guaranteed to ramp up the thrill factor at the slide tower known as “The Falls.” Guests will climb into a clear, fully-enclosed launch capsule and begin the nerve-wracking countdown to the moment when the floor literally disappears beneath them and sends them into a freefall at speeds of up to 32 mph. Guests can also enjoy a million-gallon wave pool, half-mile lazy river, kids water playground and nearly two dozen high-speed thrill slides. All of this fun and refreshment is accented by a whimsical, wind-swept island motif that transports guests to a tropical hideaway that’s close to home.
Six Flags Wild Safari
Come visit the largest drive-thru Safari outside of Africa. Located adjacent to the theme park, this wildlife preserve is home to more than 1,200 exotic animals, roaming on 350 acres of simulated natural habitats. Take your own car through the safari, or, enjoy a guided tour leaving from inside the theme park. Safari opens 9 a.m. before the theme park except Fridays during Fright Fest.
